About Us

Fellowship Ski Club

The Fellowship Ski Club of Australia is a non-denominational Christian club which owns and runs a lodge, "Moerlina" at Smiggin Holes. Here are the original 1972 aims and objectives of the club (worth remembering):

  • To bring together members of the Christian Church and their friends, who wish to enjoy the outdoor activities of the Snowy Mountains area.

  • To develop Christian leadership and character in those who love the Lord Jesus Christ. To give added impetus to the Church's adult and youth programmes by providing suitable accommodation.

  • To communicate fellowship wherever we go, by friendship, humility and love for others and to make the Gospel of Jesus Christ a message of hope and good news for all.

  • To encourage, develop and promote snow sports (including skiing and ski touring) and other athletic sports and athletic games.

The function of Moerlina and the snow experience reflects this vision and emphasises the value of community.

Moerlina

"Moerlina" (Aboriginal for "Friendly Spirit") was first built in 1972 and commissioned in 1973. It was the original dream of a member (now deceased) who envisaged a ski lodge in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, Australia that would serve Christian family values and experience in the snow.

Moerlina is heavily booked by members and their guests during the peak winter season, however some vacancies can sometimes be found during this period. There are usually  vacancies for bookings in Spring, Summer and Autumn.

The lodge is located at an altitude of 1,680 metres, in the heart of the Australian Alps at Smiggin Holes, and is part of the Perisher Blue ski resort. Convenient access to our private car park makes travelling around the area during the Summer seasons very easy.

Where is Moerlina?
Plum Pine Rd. Smiggin Holes.

A beautiful and comfortable lodge that sleeps 24 adults. A large, but cosy, lounge area and outdoor balcony ensure the ideal environment for relaxation. The lounge is heated by a lovely slow combustion wood fire for those cool nights and boasts a beautiful view over the slopes of Smiggin Holes.

From the kitchen

The modern kitchen, large meals area and pantry ensure easy meal preparation and a great opportunity for fellowship during meal times. The games room gives the more energetic visitor space to stretch out or enjoy a game of table tennis. Nine bedrooms ensure that even larger groups have plenty of room to spread out if they want to.

There is a drying room for all ski equipment to ensure your gear is ready to hit the slopes the next day.
